How to Get Leads for your Gym from Local Facebook Groups

Purpose of the group

The focus of your new public Facebook group should be getting your audience to know, like and trust you. This will create opportunities for conversations with potential new leads, and when you start talking to people in an environment where they feel safe and cared for, the selling part becomes a lot easier.

Provide consistent value (which comes in many different forms) over time and nurture the group members to a point where they show enough interest to warrant the conversation of ‘how are you doing, what are your goals, I think I can help’.

Setting up the group

Start a public Facebook group and name it based on the problem you are trying to solve e.g. “Weight loss for busy working mums in New York”. The more specific, the better.

Adding people to the group

  • Invite all of your personal Facebook friends that you know are local to your gym
  • Ask all of your gym members to join the group (you can send them a direct link to the group, from which they can request to join)
  • The public will start finding the group themselves over time too
 

Managing the group

Once your group is set up it’s time to start adding value, which can be a wide variety of things:

  • Motivational posts
  • Questions to the group
  • Actionable knowledge golden nuggets
    • Sleep, stress, nutrition, training
  • Free resources
    • Guides and tools
  • Bright spots
  • Personal updates
  • Milestone posts

 

The options are endless. Post anything that will provide value and promote meaningful engagement within the group.
